back to projects!

In the spring of 2022 I interned with non-profit organization Women in Film and Video DC. For my big project, I made a social media post promoting the Library of Congress' annual National Film Registry nominations. The National Film Registry is a program by the Library of Congress' Preservation Board, which promises to annually select 25 films to physically conserve at the library. Because many of the films already in the registry were made by or centered around men, the second slide includes a list that I curated of lesser known women-led films that we believed should be selected by the library. Since this 2022 post, four films that were either on our post or on our website were added to the registry. (If you haven't, check out some of the amazing movies listed!)

As a part of my senior project for high school, I wrote a 10 page paper, titled, "The Book on My Head: the History and Politics of Black Women's Hair." Fortunately, I was also nominated to present my research at George Washington University's Spring 2022 University Writing & Research Conference. It was for that event that I made this presentation, highlighting the key ideas of my paper in a way that would be engaging for the general public, not just fellow academics. If this graphic is interesting to you, consider reading my full paper!

As a final project for my Psychology of Sexual Behavior course, we were expected to create a flyer for a cause we believe needs more attention, that also relates to the topic of sexual health and behavior. I chose to make my flyer about the disproportionate access to healthcare for the LGBTQ+ community.
